Mark will demonstrate the power of “off-camera” flash lighting techniques using hot-shoe type “speedlites” with a variety of accessories and Quantum Qflash. About Mark Cleghorn:
Mark Cleghorn is a photographer with a distinctive style, his images have won hundreds of awards since he started his professional career in 1983. He won the Kodak European Gold awards 17 times, as well as being awarded 4 Fellowships for his outstanding images. Mark is still a working photographer, but most of his time is now spent teaching through his online training site PHOTOTRAINING 4 U. This has become the biggest dedicated training site for photographers in Europe! The site gives access to over 500 films and is growing constantly with at least 3 new film added each week. Mark’s creative, technical and business skills have influenced photographers across the world through his no-nonsense, back-to-basics videos and seminars.

“I signed up for phototraining4U.com at the official Focus launch.

The online entry system is now open for the competition that annually showcases the best images from the next generation of professional photographers.

This year the categories have been restructured to give entrants a broader range of options. Assistants can now submit Single and Series entries in the Body, Environment and Object categories, and six to eight images in Project. This new format of categories is designed largely to mirror the re-formatted non-commissioned section of the Photographers Awards, as we feel that there should be continuity between the two competitions.

Entry is available to fully paid-up Assistant Members of the Association of Photographers.

Entrants should submit their work online via the AOP website. The deadline is 6pm on Monday 9 August 2010 but if entrants submit their work before 6pm on Monday July 12th they can benefit from our Early Bird Discount which gives over 15% off the standard entry fees.

We expect to receive approximately 800 images, which will be judged by a panel of top industry professionals. The final selection of images will be exhibited at the AOP Gallery from 16th to 25th November.
