Softboxes & Umbrellas
Softboxes and Umbrellas are used to diffuse flash and reduce the overall sharpness known as specularity, the diffused flash makes it easier to disguise any facial flaws like dark eyes or wrinkles when shooting a portrait as any shadows are now diffused and hence softer.
Speedlite SoftBoxes
Ezybox Hotshoe is a Lastolite product developed specifically for using on location and lighting the subject with an off camera speedlite. The Speedlite is fixed to the hotshoe mount on the Ezybox making the flash and softbox as one and very portable.
Ezybox SoftBoxes
Ezybox is another Lastolite Softbox product developed specifically for portability as it folds away like a normal reflector would and as small in size and as simple to erect, making the Ezybox product perfect for the travelling photographer. I recommend the Ezybox 60x60 and the 90x90 as they have 2 layers of diffusion as well as optional accessories of a 3rd layer making them perfect for portraits.

KickerLite
The KickerLite is essentially a low level 90cm x 120cm (3’ x 4’) floor softbox ideal as a fill light to bring out the detail in shadow areas i.e. under the chin and around the eyes.
The KickerLite features an ‘H’ frame support to accommodate the studio flash head taking away the need for an additional light stand. The softbox features a 2 stop
diffusion layer and an internal baffle for further light manipulation. The KickerLite can also be used with battery operated flash guns.
Umbrellas
If you are going to buy a Umbrella more commonly known as a Brolley, opt for a kit as they come with the range of surfaces that can be interchanged as well as being able too be used as a shoot through.
Brolley Boxes
Brolley Boxes are my preffered choice of Brolley as they have a layer of diffusion to diffuse the flash before it hits the subject, similar to a Softbox.
Lastolite Cublite
The Studio Cubelite™ is the ultimate solution for product photography and takes our highly successful Cubelite™ concept even further. It allows for control of the light from below and all other directions allowing the photographer to give products that floating look with no shadows if desired. The tensioned diffuser fabric means the reflections on even the most reflective surface are kept to an absolute minimum, whilst the generous front opening can be closed to mask reflections from the camera/operator as well. The patented design also allows you to control the light from underneath by pointing the source up or down into the base unit giving different light distribution effects and creating graduated backgrounds if required.
